Coconat Workation announces the all new COCONAT FILM RESIDENCY, offering filmmakers the perfect retreat for working on their projects.

The COCONAT FILM RESIDENCY is supported by the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg.

Coconat is a place away from the distraction of daily life that can interfere with the part of the creative process which requires concentration.

The community of people who find themselves at Coconat is very diverse, for a filmmaker this can be an exceptional bonus. People with a variety of backgrounds are breeding grounds for serendipity, the classic creative ‘aha’ moments where ideas that have been swimming finally find their feet; broaden your perspectives from potential audiences.

Coconat’s film residency offers filmmakers and/or screenwriters place for inspired concentrated work. We imagine:
– pre-production
– research
– writing a script, screenplay, or treatment
– editing, we offer a modest video-editing suite with daVinci and Adobe Premiere available.

Target residency recipient:

This program is open to mid to senior level filmmakers working on feature or long-form storytelling through documentary, narrative, experimental, or new genres of film. Applicants should have an established production and screening record, have completed some formal training in film, or equivalent experience and recognition from their peers.

Coconat wishes to host a diverse set of filmmakers, international/local, female/male identifying, generally we more than welcome a broad set of artists representing manifold communities.

Coconat provides a calm and productive work environment, taking care that everyday distractions are taken care of, as a part of the Coconat film residency, expect:

a single room, with hand-crafted and up-cycled furniture, with work table and shared bathroom
24-7 access to our coworking spaces inside and outside
Free booking of on-site editing suite if requested
Weekly mastermind sessions lead by Coconat team
3 chef-prepared vegetarian meals per day
unlimited coffee, tea, and snacks, available 24-7
access to our natural pool, campfire, yoga room and mats, ping-pong, and foosball.
Extras services available on-site for fee include, bicycles, yoga lessons, massage, and sauna.

We have 1 10-week and 2x 5-week residencies planned.

10-week residency includes – up to €400 in travel costs and €2,000 stipend.
2x 5-week residency includes – up to €200 in travel costs and €1,000 stipend.
